Meet your clinical supervisors:
Dr. Barbara Ward, PhD, BA, MSW, RSW
Dr. Ward is a leader in children’s mental health with over 30 yrs experience in community organizations and the public education system. Her work includes researching, teaching and consulting on how trauma impacts children’s wellbeing, with a focus on the significance of providing a trauma informed and healing centered system that is identity affirming and responsive to the needs of children, youth & their families. Dr. Ward has a strong focus on integrating positive psychology and Social Emotional Learning concepts into her work. She also understands the interconnections between staff wellness & organizational trauma & stress. She believes in the collaboration & partnerships that successfully create “a village to raise a child”. Barbara previously worked at a children’s mental health centre for over 23 years, and then held the position of Mental Health Lead with the Waterloo Region District School Board for 8 years. She additionally has a small private practice which primarily provides clinical supervision to other mental health practitioners. Barbara completed her PhD studies in psychology from the Taos Institute & Vrije U, and has a Masters in SW from Wilfrid Laurier.
Huda Adnan, SSW, BSW, MSW, RSW
Huda Adnan is a registered social worker, lead consultant and principal psychotherapist at Noor El Huda: The Guiding Light Therapy/Consulting Services. Noorelhuda is a holistic and trauma-informed service that brings integrative mental health support to individuals and helps organizations with culturally-responsive professional development training. With 10 years of experience as a social worker, Huda Adnan is an expert in her field having worked with several organizations such as non-profits, schools, community health care, government sector and at a provincial level. Her specialty topics include culturally-responsive care, racial/intergenerational trauma, and newcomer/refugee mental health. Huda completed her Master’s in Social Work and Bachelor’s in Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University, in addition to her Social Service Worker diploma from George Brown College.
Types of Supervision Options Available
Individual Supervision (2:1)
Meeting individually is an ideal opportunity to establish a personalized supervisory rapport where you can be open to address comprehensive client concerns and receive guidance to help meet your professional needs as you grow and develop your clinical practice. Individual clinical supervision is fluid and is customized around your distinctive clinical needs.
You will have access to two experienced clinical supervisors, for $225 per hour.
Group Supervision
Supervision provided in a group format offers a unique opportunity to learn from the diverse backgrounds and experiences of your peers, in addition to fostering a sense of community. Groups are capped limited to at 4 supervisees in order to provide focused support.
Group supervision options are bi-weekly or monthly for 60 minutes ($75) or 90 minutes ($100).
WHO CAN JOIN
Supervision is open to psychotherapists, social workers, or counseling psychology students of all modalities and levels of experience. Whether you’re a seasoned therapist or just starting your journey as a student, you are welcome to join.
